Help Ukraine Vancouver Island Society would like to congratulate Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Spirit of Ukraine for being named as Time Magazine’s Person of the Year.
Each year, Time chooses someone who they believe represents the most important issue or issues of the past 12 months. The war in Ukraine and the bravery of the Ukrainian people defending their homeland is representative of the larger issue facing us: in what kind of a world do we wish to live?
As an organization, we value resiliency, democracy, teamwork, giving back, creative solutions, and taking care of each other. We see these values reflected in the actions of Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people.
